MCIOA OET Writing Clinic                                                     

Course Code: MOWC01

The MCIOA writing clinic is for those that struggle with professional writing or for those that have taken the OET test and not received the desired result.

We cover the following professions in OET Writing:

12 health & allied health professions: dentistry, dietetics, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry, radiography, speech pathology & veterinary science.

Writing Clinic Content:

OET Writing

-Writing Skills

-Letter writing including but not limited to: formal & informal letters, patient referral letters, hospital admissions letters, reminder letter to patients, patient discharge letters etc.

-Hand writing skills

-Planning to write

-Organising the task

-Understand the assessment criteria

 

OET General Skills

-Vocabulary Skills

-English grammar in oral and written communication

-Target language

-Medical terms and their meanings

-Pronunciation

-Medical roots, suffixes and prefixes 

-Medical related tests, charts and templates

-Medical terminology

-Australian health care sector – understanding

 

Educators:

The program is taught by experienced English Teachers from Australia with a solid knowledge of the OET Exam.

Inclusions: course materials, MCIOA study pack, lectures & handouts

Duration: 2 weeks or 4 weeks

Course Delivery Modes:

Online- Distance Learning Paper Based or traditional classroom delivery (Melbourne only)
